Hi and Happy New Year!  Hope you've been contacting your legislators letting them know how you feel about budget cuts.

As you know, things are heating up with the budget issues.  The new Gov. will announce her budget at the state of the state address, but we get no sense that she will be including tax increases in her budget.

House Speaker Mays says that education must be on the table for cuts, Sebelius says no.  More to come on that.

Gov. Elect Sebelius just held a news conference to announce new Secretaries.  As we hoped, Janet Schalansky will remain as Secretary of SRS.  Mike Hayden will continue as Secretary for Parks and Wildlife.

Jim Garner, former Minority leader in the House will be Secretary of Human Resources, Deb Miller, Transportation Secretary, Rod Bremly Secretary for Health and Environment, and Joan Wagnon Secretary of Revenue.

Gov. Elect Sebelius still has to name new Secretaries for Aging, Agriculture and Corrections.  We are aware that Connie Hubbell was thanked for her services and will not be the Aging Secretary.
